If I misprinted my postage, how do I cancel the associated Stamps.com Insurance purchase?
If your postage misprinted, please cancel your Stamps.com Insurance purchase before midnight of the associated package’s mailing date. Simply go to VIEW REPORTS, click INSURANCE HISTORY. Select the insurance purchase from the list and click REFUND. Your monthly statement will show both the insurance purchase and the cancellation. Don’t forget to request a refund on the misprinted postage. This is a separate process and is required to receive a refund on the postage cost.

What are my insurance options if the declared value of my package is over $2,500?
Stamps.com Insurance covers up to $2,500 only. We recommend using the USPS Insurance option for packages with a declared value from $2,501 to $5,000. If your package is over $5,000, use USPS Registered Mail™, which provides coverage up to $25,000.

Why do I need to file a claim with the USPS on my Express Mail?
The USPS automatically provides $100 coverage with any Express Mail shipment. As a result, the first $100 value of any loss or damage incurred must first be filed with the USPS. Any amount above and beyond the first $100 may then be filed with PIP.
