Customer Support: Troubleshooting: 10 lb. Digital Scale
Your Stamps.com 10 lb. Digital Scale (Discontinued) is designed to work directly with your PC and Stamps.com software to calculate exact postage amounts for your letters and packages.
Note: To integrate the scale to your PC and Stamps.com software, an available serial port is required. If it is not available, you can still use the scale as a standalone scale.
Connect the Scale to Your Computer
- Remove the Serial Cable from the plastic packaging.
- Attach the larger end of the cable into an unused Serial Communication Port on your computer (usually located on the back of your PC).
- Attach the smaller end of the cable into the small plug jack on the rear of the scale.
Download the Scale Driver
You will need to download the scale driver in order to use the integrated feature of the scale. The driver is free and approximately 1.64MB in size.
Integrate the Scale to Your Stamps.com Software
- Log into the Stamps.com software.
- From the Stamps.com main screen, select the "File" menu on the top left corner, then click on "Setup Digital Scale".
- In the Setup dialog, select "WeighTronix 7010" from the list.
- Select the communications port (COM port) that your digital scale is attached to. Click Test. Hint: If the test fails, first try selecting another COM port. If that doesn't work please contact Customer Support.
- Once your digital scale has been successfully set up and tested, close the "Digital Scales Setup" screen by selecting "OK".
- Select the "Print Postage" tab to open the "Print Postage" screen.
- To retrieve weight information from the scale, place the mail piece on the scale. Make sure your scale is on.
- Click the "Scale" icon. The weight and required postage for your mail piece will be automatically calculated and input into your software.
- Complete preparing your mail as usual and click Print.
