Tips to Maintain Your Scale in Good Condition The 5 lb. digital scale does not require a lot of maintenance. However, you should be aware of these important tips: The digital scale is very sensitive and accurate to 0.1 ounce. As a result, air currents such as heaters and/or air conditioners, temperature changes, and vibration may cause the scale to drift off zero weight. If your scale displays something other than 0.0 with nothing on it, turn it Off and back On to recalibrate the scale back to 0.0. Do not place objects greater than 10 lbs. on the scale as it will damage the scale. Leaving the scale on for extended periods of time will not damage it, but it should be turned off when not in use.
