Customer Support: Troubleshooting: System Resources Low If you attempt to print postage and receive an error message (System Resources Low, GDI Resources Low), you will need to restart Windows and close unused background programs (such as the programs / applications in your System Tray, down by your clock). GDI (Graphical Device Interface) is one of the system-wide resources in the Windows environment. When applications run, portions of resources are used for menu lists, window logistics, and other information. The more crowded, the more unstable Windows becomes. Every program you open grabs some system resources, but some programs don't properly relinquish them once they've been closed. As you repeatedly enter, use, exit, and reenter applications or programs, the amount of available resources continuously decrease. The easiest way to free up your resources is to close down applications you are not using or restarting your computer. |
