Customer Support: Troubleshooting: Address Book Engine Initializing Failure

If you have received “Error 80040154 – Error Initializing the Application,” this indicates that vital files in your hard drive are corrupt and are not allowing the software to run. We recommend that you reboot your computer and attempt a second log-in.

If still unsuccessful, then we recommend that you uninstall the Stamps.com software.

To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to http://www.stamps.com/download
  2. Then, please follow these steps to download and install the latest version of the Stamps.com software.
  3. If the download does not begin immediately, please click where it says: “Click here to manually download a saveable file.”
  4. Save the file to your desktop.
  5. Once this file is saved, double-click it in order to begin the re-installation process.
