New Stamps.com Version 3.5 Delivers Better Shipping and Enhanced Features

Microsoft Office System 2003 Integration Now Generally Available

SANTA MONICA, Calif, — October 28, 2003 – Stamps.com™ (Nasdaq: STMP – News), the leading PC Postage® provider, today announced the release of Stamps.com Version 3.5 which provides enhanced integration with Microsoft® Office System 2003 and broader support for shipping. The software also introduces Stamps.com package insurance and an expanded online store platform, both of which are expected to contribute to the company’s revenue growth.

“The enhancements and new features included in this software release were developed in response to our customers’ growing shipping needs and our continuing efforts to improve the service,” said Ken McBride, CEO of Stamps.com. “Both the Microsoft Office System integration and the Stamps.com package insurance will allow our customers to further enhance and simplify their mailing and shipping processes using our service.”

Stamps.com worked in collaboration with Microsoft to improve integration with Microsoft Word and Outlook®. The enhanced integration allows users to add postage to an envelope or a mail merge without leaving the familiar Microsoft Office environment. The integration was previously tested and was favorably received by Microsoft’s Office beta users. The integration is now generally available with Stamps.com Version 3.5.

The latest version of Stamps.com also delivers new features that are designed to improve the shipping process. The Stamps.com Insurance offering allows users to insure their packages in a fully integrated, online process that eliminates any trips to the post office or the need to complete any forms. Further, customers on select plans will receive a 10% discount over U.S. Postal Service insurance rates. Stamps.com Insurance is provided by Parcel Insurance Plan and underwritten by Fireman’s Fund.

Other shipping improvements include the ability to send shipment notifications emails with a tracking link, the ability to print shipping labels for Express Mail® and Bound Printed Matter, and support for additional USPS services such as Collect on Delivery (COD).

In this software release, Stamps.com expanded and redesigned its online store in order to support a larger selection of items. Stamps.com also made available for sale new labels for use with the Internet Postage and Shipping Labels features. Since the debut of the online store in July 2002, Stamps.com has seen its customers respond enthusiastically to the convenience of buying supplies directly from Stamps.com.

Stamps.com Version 3.5 is automatically provided to new Stamps.com customers upon sign-up. Current customers can upgrade to Version 3.5 at no cost at sdcmainprod.wpengine.com.
